Bonnie Tousignaut - IBC Survivor

twinkling star image

I was diagnosed on December 17, 1989, at the age of 52.

Bonnie

Ladies,

I'm sure there are more long term IBC Survivors out here. In 1989 my daughter worked in medical data and found there was, or had been, at least one 15 year survivor.

I have used the internet for years - just never thought to look up IBC. Recently I received an email warning women about the symptoms of Pagets Breast Cancer. I wanted to add information about IBC diagnosis, so I looked it up on the web to get my facts straight.

I have four loving, supportive, adult children, their spouses, and four grandsons. Great for the immune system!

My medical treatment was chemo and radiation administered by successful doctors. Surgery didn't make sense to me then, and it still doesn't.

My spiritual help was from friends and Bernie Segal, MD (E-Cap). A friend gave me his book and tapes for Christmas, and I use them. My daughter even arranged my 2nd opinion at Duke, North Carolina, when Dr. Segal was there, and we went to see him. The 2nd opinion was to assure her I would live another year so she could have another baby. My youngest grandson (so far) was born February 1991.

My prayer for you is seeing you in the Light healed and whole. Can you feel the Light? Here's a hug, too. The hug is from me.

Love,
Bonnie

The Battle Hymn of the Republic

Mine eyes have seen the glory
Of the coming of the Lord.
He is trampling out the vintage
Where the grapes of wrath are stored.
He hath loosed the fateful lightning
Of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on.

Glory, glory, Hallelujah!
Glory, glory, Hallelujah!
Glory, glory, Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

I have seen Him in the watch fires
Of a hundred circling camps;
They have builded Him an altar
In the evening dews and damps.
I can read His righteous sentence
By the dim and flaring lamps;
His day is marching on.

Glory, glory, Hallelujah!
Glory, glory, Hallelujah!
Glory, glory, Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

He has sounded forth the trumpet
That shall never sound retreat,
He is sifting out the hearts of men,
Before His judgment seat;
O be swift, my souls to answer Him;
Be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.

Glory, glory, Hallelujah!
Glory, glory, Hallelujah!
Glory, glory, Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

In the beauty of the lilies
Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom
That transfigures you and me.
As He died to make me holy,
Let us die to make men free,
While God is marching on.

Glory, glory, Hallelujah!
Glory, glory, Hallelujah!
Glory, glory, Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

He is coming like the glory
Of the morning on the wave;
He is wisdom to the mighty,
He is honor to the brave.
So the world shall be His footstool
And the soul of wrong His slave.
Our God is marching on.

Glory, glory, Hallelujah!
Glory, glory, Hallelujah!
Glory, glory, Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.
