Debbie
When diagnosed, my first reaction was to give this cancer
to God and let Him deal with it. I immediately felt wrapped in
angels wings, and I have been ever since.
I have a wonderful son who was seven when I was diagnosed. His
faith is stronger even than my own, and whenever I doubted the value
of continuing treatment, he kept me going.
I am also blessed by a dedicated and loving husband who, though
terrified of doctors, supported and sustained me throughout the treatment.
One thing I found particularly useful was a weekly update I provided
via email to all friends and family. I originally sent 'the deb report'
to about 20 people. By the time I finished treatment, I was sending
to 89 people, and I know of over 200 that received it.
Some days
it was totally upbeat; some days, it reflected my fears. Always,
it asked for prayer and support.
I believe I am here today because of the prayer support and dedication
of these people who supported me. My God has sustained me because
He still has a use for me.
My work has continued to allow me to
achieve, while giving me full venue for my treatment requirements.
My family has uplifted me, and gathered near to me.
I am blessed beyond measure.
