Della was diagnosed in 1986 at the age of 35.

Della

This is written on behalf of my sister-in-law, Della May Brown. She does not own a computer, so I will tell her story, briefly. She was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer in 1986. It has been almost 16 years now, and she has been completely cancer free.

She went into a clinical trial and had to travel a great distance to do it, even while feeling so ill. She had a lot of experiences with God during this time. She had hands layed on her at church. She was anointed with oil as the Bible prescribes.

Della is a country girl, very simple and sweet and good. She lives in a rural place in the south where the medical care was a bit shakey. The doctors originally diagnosed her with an infection, which delayed treatment for the real problem.

They sent her to Knoxville, where she received a proper diagnosis, but it was so advanced that they would not treat her there. They placed her into a trial instead. She lived to tell about it, and to give glory to God, which she does every day.

Love,
her sister-in-law

How Great Thou Art

O Lord my God when I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made.
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power through out the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

When through the woods and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur,
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze.

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

And when I think that God His son not sparing,
Sent Him to die I scarce can take it in.
That on the cross my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

When Christ shall come with shouts of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow in humble admiration,
And there proclaim, my God how great Thou art.
