Jean - IBC Survivor

twinkling star image

I was diagnosed on November 16, 1995 at the age of 46.

Jean

I was diagnosed with IBC with mets to the bone on a fateful day in November, 1995. I remember the surgeon holding my hand in the recovery room after the biopsy giving me the news that shattered my life.

At that time no one expected me to be alive 5 years later, much less alive and cancer free! Although I still wait for the 'other shoe to drop,' I no longer think about it on a daily basis.

There is the possibility of a full and rewarding life after IBC even if it doesn't seem so right now.

Yesterday

Yesterday,
All my troubles seemed so far away.
Now it looks as though they're here to stay.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Suddenly,
I'm not half the man I used to be.
There's a shadow hanging over me.
Oh, yesterday came suddenly.

Why she had to go,
I don't know, she wouldn't say.
I said something wrong.
Now I long for yesterday.

Yesterday,
Love was such an easy game to play.
Now I need a place to hide away.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Why she had to go,
I don't know, she wouldn't say.
I said something wrong.
Now I long for yesterday.

Yesterday,
Love was such an easy game to play.
Now I need a place to hide away.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.
