I was diagnosed in May, 2000 at the age of 42.

When I was diagnosed I could not believe it was happening to me. I was a single mother of three boys, the oldest was 14 and there was no one that I wanted to raise them. I knew that the only one to finish raising them was me.

The treatments lasted 11 months, and were the worst eleven months I can imagine. I was in the process of buying a house but it was not ready yet and we had to stay in motels and weekly rental apartments because I did not think it would take so long to get into my house.

I also had a child that had problems and was in and out of court. I am happy to say that he is now 18 and doing very well. We both made it. I still have effects from all the Taxol I received and stiffness and uncomfortable feeling from the surgeries but I am here.

My youngest is now 14 and my only wish was that I would be able to raise them all. It was scary, depressing, I cried all the time but it was worth it. I AM STILL HERE and have had no recurrence.
